I like everything about it. It is away from the casinos, but within minutes. It is on Hwy 50 before 89 but it is nice. There are restaurants and coffee shops close by. It is reasonably priced and close to everything. You don't have to deal with the crowds at Heavenly or at Stateline. But you still are close enough to everything.

The facilities and cleanliness were really great for a two star motel - there was a coffee maker, a TV, a pretty big bathroom. Everything was clean plus the staff was very nice and helpful. I believe that this is great value for money, especially if you want to stay away from the noise of the city center.
The motel is located a little bit outside of South Lake Tahoe - for some people that is a plus, for us it was a bit of a minus as there was no real possibility to walk to the center of South Lake Tahoe.Proximity of the room to the parking lot and to the general pathways may be seen as a minus.

The exterior of the hotel is reminiscent of old style motor lodges. The ownership has spent time to provide some nice outside amenities with clean and maintained lawn areas, a nice common patio with benches and chairs, a BBQ for all to use in the common area and a spa. The rooms were clean and smelled fresh. Our particular room must have undergone recent upgrades as the walls had fresh paint and the bathroom was in excellent shape.
For all the updates to the room, the bed was somehow forgotten. Neither my wife or myself slept well in the bed. I am also very disappointed in our check-in service at the front desk. Not only did the front desk person give me grief about our small child which I did not declare on the online reservation but claimed that he had to charge an additional fee. This despite the child policy clearly stated on Booked.net listing for this property indicating that kids sleeping in the same bed as the parents would not be assessed additional fees. I refused to pay the additional fee and the clerk grudgingly completed our check-in. It was funny that he spent an inordinate amount of time comparing my credit card, which had my picture on it, to my ID to all the info that I wrote on the card. It was almost as if he was trying to decide whether he wanted us to stay there or not and was stalling. Very unpleasant check-in experience.

We were very pleased with this hotel. The staff was very helpful and the room was perfect for a nights stay before heading off into Desolation Wilderness.

Apex Inn was as stated and was very convenient to all FUN locations. Dinner & breakfast were in walking distance. We will stay there again.

Friendly staff, good quality room, good position with easy access to lake side road. Outside of the main area so quieter. Great Italian restaurant next door. All good at a fair price with a nice sitting area outside.

I really appreciated how accommodating the desk staff was to my reservation needs. The date of the evening event I was attending in South Lake Tahoe (which was the reason for my making a reservation) was published incorrectly on the party host's web site, so I made my reservation for the wrong night; when the date was corrected, I had to try to change my reservation at the last minute. The desk staff were so great about this. Technically they could have charged me for both nights - the wrong one plus the right one - but they were so understanding and changed my reservation and charged me only for the one night. And they were so nice about it. I was impressed.
There was very little light in the room. One window with not much light coming in. When drapes were drawn during day for privacy, and at night, there was light available only from two small, weak bedside lamps. No way enough light to read. If I stayed there again, I would bring at least one lamp with me.

Good location and pretty quiet.
The shower knob was hard tocontrol the water temp. Only one chair in a room for double occupancy is not adequate.

Excellent location close to the lake, and convenient for shopping, casinos, and the South Lake Tahoe ski resorts. The room was comfortable, clean, and well furnished. Lots of shops and restauarants nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed the outdoor hot tub after a full day of skiing.
The WiFi was free but did not work very well during our stay - this may have been an isolated problem.

Helpful management, clean and cozy room, comfortable beds. Excellent price. I liked that the curtains really did block the outside street lights.
The room was very small and crowded. One has to hop over a bed to get to the other side of the room.
